Kidney Focused Care, LLC (KFC) is a consulting practice. We provide primary preventive kidney care services to prevent kidney disease in those who are high risk and slow progression in those with early kidney disease. We do this by promoting early detection, early prevention and early referrals. Diabetes and Hypertension is the leading cause of chronic kidney disease (CKD). CKD leads to End-Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) that requires dialysis or a kidney transplant. We know that diabetes and high blood pressure does not have to lead to CKD. No CKD-No ESKD. In those with early CKD, the progression of it can be delayed. Slow CKD-Slow ESKD=Delayed dialysis.
We believe through early detection, early prevention and early nephrology referrals when warranted, the burden of kidney disease on patients, families and society can be reduced. We offer a comprehensive care team and comprehensive strategies to prevent and delay the progression of kidney disease. We are not here to replace nephrologists, primary care providers, endocrinologists, or other specialty. However, we know that a big problem requires an even bigger effort that includes many hands to the plow.

Kidney Screens
Screening is done to make sure you do not have issues with your kidneys already. It simply measures kidney function.
Consultations
With the comprehensive history, we are laser focused on any factors that may cause you to be at risk for developing CKD.
Dietary Consultation
This is probably the most important consult of all when it comes to preventing and delaying kidney disease.
Renal Protection Program-
This program is essential. It is what a motor is to a car. It is included with membership. It will be discussed upon enrollment.

Jacqueline D. Boyd started her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1996, graduating from Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC). She went back to receive an Associate Degree as a Registered Nurse from MDCC.

A Look at CKD
Chronic Kidney Disease is defined as abnormalities of the kidney structure or function, present for greater than 3 months with implication for health.
- 37 million people in the U.S. may have CKD
- 1 and 7 people with CKD are unaware
- 1 and 2 adults ages 30-64 are expected to develop CKD
- Diabetes is the leading cause of CKD
- High blood pressure is the 2nd leading cause
- 1 and 3 diabetics may have CKD unaware
- 1 and 5 adults with high blood pressure may have CKD
- CKD is more common in women and minorities
